Be Dust.

“This idea of being covered in the dust of your rabbi came from something everybody had seen. A rabbi would come to town, and right behind him would be this group of students, doing their best to keep up with the rabbi as he went about teaching his yoke from one place to another. By the end of a day of walking in the dirt directly behind their rabbi, the students would have the dust from his feet all over them. And that was a good thing.”

If we are disciples of Jesus we should be walking so close to Him that we are always covered in His dust. Life, I believe, is a journey to stay dusty. Sometimes it means catching up to Jesus and trying to stay close when it feels like He is taking off without me. Sometimes it means slowing down and stopping myself from trying to run ahead of Him, doing my own things on my own times.

Apartment Update

April 26, 2008 — kediger

We didn’t get the apartment, but I’m not too disappointed. At least we know. And we had an excellent, excellent showing of our house today and the people are coming back on Wednesday. So if our house sells, that’s even better. We’re still looking for a good 2-3 bedroom apartment in Logan Square/Wicker Park/Humboldt Park (but mostly Logan Square) so if anybody knows anything, send me info!
